Though not as good as his past books in the series, this was still an interesting read. I felt like the story dragged on a little bit too much, a little more action and a little less talking would have been ideal, as what action happens isn't very much. I also felt like they didn't go into as much detail about the parks as in the past books and that left me wanting to know more about the parks. That's why I mainly read the books is so that I feel like I'm at the parks. So again still a good read but not as great as it has been in the past

Kingdom Keepers III Disney in Shadow Ridley Pearson 9781423128991 Books Reviews

My daughter loves these books. They are a must have if your child reads books and especially if they have been to Disney. She's constantly telling me stories about these books in relation to rides or attractions we've been to at Disney.
I have just started this book with my mom, and have read the entire book with my nephew, who loved it. It has a great lesson about right and wrong, but also keeps the magical quality everyone associates with all things Disney. I think Walt Disney would like this book because it speaks to the child in us all, and doesn't go low the way other Disney projects have recently. It is a true Disney experience.
I am a HUGE Disney fan, so I desperately wanted to love this series.

The first book was great and had a fresh concept and introduced us to some great characters.

The second one was just okay and at times the storyline was stretched a little thin. I realize this is fiction but a really really great author makes you put yourself in the story and believe that it is actually happening, but instead I found myself saying "That would never happen" and felt cheated at times like when he took the easy way out (plot wise). It took me forever to finish it because I just wasn't into it.

Then FINALLY the third book comes out and this is where ALL my expectations were finally met. If you haven't read the first 2 you can easily catch up. I couldn't put this book down!!! It has everything that the first 2 lacked and I hope the authors continue the series with the same detail to story and magic that came out of this book!

I would have given this book 5 stars but I chose 4 stars for the series because most people won't read this without reading the first 2.
My niece had this book (and all its companions in the series) on her birthday list. She absolutely loves the books (I purchased the first three in the series) and stays up late at night to read them. Her brother enjoys them as well, and he is not the most enthusiastic reader in the world. I recommend these books for kids about 10 and up who love Disney and would enjoy an adventure set in one of the theme parks. The books are easy to read but not short, ranging from about 300 to over 500 pages. Despite their length, however, they are very popular with our family.
I have been reading the Kingdom Keepers series for less than a month now. I finished the first in under a week and moved right on to the second book. The books are not short but once I begin reading one I have trouble putting them down, even when I have to get to sleep and be at work in the morning. I just now finished the third book in the series and about halfway through had ordered the fourth book so that I had it ready to go as soon as I finished the third. I have had issues in the past getting bored by about the third book in a series, but this one is the complete opposite! I can't wait to see what happens next, and I would highly recommend these books to anyone of any age.
In my opinion, Kingdom Keepers keeps getting better. The characters continue to become more developed, the references to Disney buzz words are a great tie in, and my daughter keeps wanting to read the next book...what's not to like?

I recommend this to adults and children..especially those who have an interest in all things Disney. One tip is that I would NOT try to pick up in the middle of the series. Start with book ONE.
A solid installment. This is a pretty good series but I noticed a handful of errors. Both grammatically and actual errors. The lions(?) from China in Epcot probably wouldn't be freaked out by water. House cats hate water because there fur sticks to their skin and makes it easy for them to get cold. Big cats, in particular ones who live in a typically hot area, probably wouldn't mind a little cool-down. Other than that, a little bit of romance starts to develop towards the end of the book. Chernabog shows his ugly mug again and the Kingdom Keepers find a rather nice sword, not necessarily in that order. Wayne gets even more cryptic and there's a bit of fairly decent character development. Like the title of the review says, it's a pretty good book. For those of you not convinced yet, the Fantasmic show-down that has been hinted at since book one finally happens. It's a bit lackluster at points, but has a very surprising end. Just keep reading after the part with Wayne and a drugged out Professor Philby will explain everything. You'll understand when you get to that point.
